Commitment to Being Anti-Racist and Anti-Bias
Story Exploratory was founded to provide space for people to share their stories, be seen, and feel empowered. Our goal is to use writing to help you own your headspace in order to live in alignment with your truest self. We are committed to creating an environment where everyone safe, accepted, and celebrated.
While we work towards these goals, we also recognize the inequities and injustices in our world and consciously strive to be anti-racist and anti-bias. We understand that this is ongoing work, that combatting racism, from personal to systemic racism, is ongoing and requires commitment and action.
Writing allows us to examine ourselves and the world, explore our creative potential, share our stories, and make an impact with our ideas. In exploring identity, being open to understanding others' lived experiences, we then have more power to recognize injustice and take action. Therefore, we see writing as a tool of empowerment and a way to impact change.
Beyond this, we are committed to continuously learning, growing, and speaking out against injustice. We invite you to join us. Here are ways to actively be anti-racist and anti-bias.
Wherever you are on your journey, know that your voice matters. Black lives matter. Being anti-racist and anti-bias matters. We appreciate your trust in Story Exploratory ad promise to do our part to continuously strive to be anti-racist and anti-bias while celebrating our collective voices and the power of story.

- Shop at Black-owned bookstores and other business such as Brain Lair Books.
- Practice reading/listening with an open heart and making connections with the stories or information you read and/or listen to. Listen with empathy, ask questions, share and discuss with others.
- Redistribute your funds as you are able to support organizations like Equal Justice Initiative, NAACP, Color of Change and others that are working towards racial justice.
- Practice self care. This is arduous but necessary work.
